Common Questions

What Makes The Powered Parachute So Stable?

The pendulum effect (pilot and airframe suspended by an airfoil) provides self-compensating stability.

How Fast Does It Fly?

The Powered Parachute flies at a constant 26mph through the air. The ground speed is determined by the speed of the wind relative to the flight direction.

How Does The Parachute Deploy?

Simply lay the parachute out behind the airframe and start the engine. As the pilot and aircraft start rolling forward for takeoff, the parachute will kite overhead. Upon reaching 26mph, the parachute will lift the pilot and aircraft up into the sky.

What if the engine quits?

In the unlikely event that the engine should fail, the pilot can safely steer the unpowered gliding Powered Parachute back to a landing site.

How Is The Powered Parachute Transported?

The Paladin Sparrow and Golden Eagle models can all be transported on a small trailer.

Do I Need A Pilot's License?

NO. The Paladin Sparrow single place is exempt from licensing under Federal Aviation Regulation part 103. The Paladin Golden Eagle 2 place model requires a Basic Flight Instructor certification and may be used for Instructional Use Only.  If you are a licensed pilot you may N number the aircraft as experimental and fly it under your GA license.  Unlike most aircraft,  very little training is required to become a proficient pilot.
